What is the Point System?

The point system is basically an attendance tracking system. It lets us know how many people we had at a meeting and who was there. This is important to know for two primary reasons, one is to track the good standing of a member and the other is for the most active member award for the End of Year Banquet. It also tells us basic statistics of our MSA such as participation, how much community service we have done collectively, and monitor other trends. It is maintained on an Excel Sheet and will be made available for everyone to see. Click the button below to check your attendance and points.

Point System

Members have two weeks after a meeting to appeal for inaccurate attendance records. After this time attendance records cannot be changed. Members are responsible for maintaining accurate record of their attendance. It is not the responsibility of the Vice President to proactively seek out verification of attendance.

Good Standing Requirements

Good standing is measured by number of attendances not by points. For example, we will look at social events, you attended one Fajr and Folgers and one Duhr & Doughnuts. You will recieve 3 points from Fajr & Folgers and 2 points from Duhr & Doughnuts to give you five total points. But overall you will be recognized for attending two events.

There are two levels of good standing in the MSA, one is for eligibility to vote in elections at the end of the year and the other is to run for a position for the next school year. The MSA tries to keep up with the attendance of all its meetings. If you would like to know how many events you have been, how much you've volunteered, or where you stand please email Hamza Ashfaq at vicepresident@ukymsa.com.

End of Year Banquet Most Active MSA Member Award

The most active member award is awarded to the member who participated the most throughout the year. The award also comes along with a prize. Points are dynamic and a different number of points are awarded for each events. We will maintain a leaderboard of the top five most active members and announce them at each monthly meeting as well as have them on this page.

Halaqas and Monthly meetings each earn one point for one attendance. Volunteer hours earn points based on the time committed (1 hour = 1 point). Social events and big events earn one point for attendance plus extra points based on the event.
